Both in psychoanalysis and in art, the constant attempt to transfer unconscious contents into symbolic orders and make them perceptible is at stake. In the field of technology, we have witnessed a radical development in recent years: machines have learned to generate creative results through speech recognition, data processing, and algorithmic analysis. Artificial neural networks are not only taking over everyday life and sciences but also serving as new tools for artists. On this evening, which marks the beginning of a new open series of discourses, we aim to collectively explore and discuss connections, interactions, and conflicts within the triad of art, psychoanalysis, and machine learning from various perspectives.

Speakers include Selina de Beauclair, visual artist; Marc Ries, cultural and media theorist; Roman Widholm, psychoanalyst. The evening will be moderated by Martin Reinhart
